Arsenal's Martin Zubimendi's got a knee issue, and Spain's not taking any chances – they've released him from the squad to prioritize his health.


The EURO 2024 champs want to keep him safe, and he's heading back to Arsenal. 


“To avoid any risk whatsoever and safeguard the player's health, he has been released from the squad,” said the Spain's side in a statement.




Arsenal's medical staff are in the loop, they've been “fully informed of the entire process” regarding Zubimendi's knee issue.


Zubimendi came on as a substitute in Spain's 3-0 win over Serbia on Friday.


He played a bit against Serbia on Friday, but Spain's not risking it – The 27-year-old will miss Tuesday's friendly against Egypt in Barcelona.


Zubimendi's been a crucial cog in Arsenal's midfield this season, playing 44 times across all competitions.
