Stuttgart secured a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Wolfsburg, cementing their place inside the Bundesliga's top four. Wolfsburg, who remain in the relegation zone, suffered their fifth defeat in six league matches.

Wolfsburg's struggles continued as they failed to pick up points against Stuttgart, a tough opponent. Relegation rivals Werder Bremen and St Pauli both won on the previous day, making it crucial for Wolfsburg to get a result.

Stuttgart's Bundesliga home form had been solid, with just one loss in their previous 11 matches, so they were looking to continue their good run against Hoffenheim. They started strongly, with Ermedin Demirovic and Chris Fuhrich both having early chances, but Hoffenheim goalkeeper Kamil Grabara was equal to their efforts.

The breakthrough finally came just after the 20-minute mark, as Stuttgart found the net to take the lead.
