New faces in Spain squad as Garcia, Mosquera, Barrenetxea, and Munoz prepare for World Cup...

Barcelona's in-form goalkeeper Joan Garcia has received a maiden call-up to Spain's national team, joining a 27-man squad for upcoming friendlies. Garcia, who has made 35 appearances this season, is one of four new faces in the team, alongside Arsenal defender Cristhian Mosquera, Real Sociedad forward Ander Barrenetxea, and Osasuna's Victor Munoz.

Spain, the European champions, will face Serbia on March 27 in Villarreal and Egypt four days later as part of their World Cup preparations. The squad is preparing for the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, where they'll face Uruguay, Cape Verde, and Saudi Arabia in Group H.

The game against Serbia is replacing the Finalissima match versus Argentina, which was cancelled due to the Middle East war. Similarly, the friendly match with Egypt has been moved from Qatar to Barcelona for the same reason.

Joan Garcia, the new goalkeeper signing from Espanyol, has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season. He joined Barcelona on a five-year deal, with a €25m release clause, and is expected to be the team's number one goalkeeper.

Joan Garcia, Barcelona's goalkeeper, had an injury scare earlier this week when he was replaced by Wojciech Szczesny in the Champions League match against Newcastle. Fortunately, subsequent tests revealed he's fine and is set to play against Rayo Vallecano.

Arsenal defender Cristhian Mosquera, Real Sociedad forward Ander Barrenetxea, and Osasuna's Victor Munoz have received their first-ever call-ups to the Spain national team. Mosquera is being rewarded for his impressive first season with Arsenal, while Garcia's inclusion marks a notable debut.

Winger Nico Williams is still out with an injury, and Gavi's also missing out, having only made a brief comeback for Barcelona after a serious knee injury. This means Luis de la Fuente's squad has some new faces, including Garcia, Mosquera, Barrenetxea, and Munoz.

Spain's among the favourites for the World Cup in the US, Mexico, and Canada, with a tough Group H draw against Uruguay, Cape Verde, and Saudi Arabia. They're looking strong, and fans are eager to see how the new squad will perform.
