Vaz's first Roma goal enough to beat Lecce, Mario Hermoso helps secure win...
AS Roma had a tough couple of weeks, picking up just one point from three Serie A matches, which dropped them to sixth place. Things got worse with a 4-3 loss to Bologna in extra time, knocking them out of the Europa League Round of 16. The team was missing several key players, including Zeki Celik, Manu Koné, Matias Soulé, Paulo Dybala, Artem Dovbyk, and Evan Ferguson, while Wesley was suspended. On the other hand, Lecce welcomed back Lameck Banda after his recovery from breathing difficulties.
Wladimiro Falcone was tested early on, first by a Lorenzo Pellegrini cross that took a double deflection and almost went in, then made another save using his legs on Pellegrini's angled drive. Roma's pushing hard.
Robinio Vaz scored his first goal for Roma, securing a narrow 1-0 win over Lecce, with Mario Hermoso's crucial goal-line clearance helping to seal the victory.
Evan Ndicka headed wide from a corner, while Tiago Gabriel made an incredible double save, first stopping D. Malen inside the box and then blocking El Aynaoui's follow-up shot. Falcone tipped over Gianluca Mancini's cross-shot with his fingertips, but Roma lost Mancini to injury at halftime.
Lecce came out strong after halftime, testing Svilar with a swerving long-range shot from Ngom, and Tiago Gabriel had a header go just over from the resulting corner.
Robinio Vaz made an instant impact after coming off the bench, scoring his first goal for Roma. Mario Hermoso's precise cross from the left allowed Vaz to nod it in from a tricky angle at the back post.

Sadik Fofana had a good chance but scuffed his finish wide under pressure from Ndicka. Lecce then had a massive double opportunity on 73 minutes: Konan N’Dri's dribble down the left forced a save with Svilar's leg, and Santiago Pierotti's diving header was cleared off the line by Hermoso.
The crowd erupted as Angelino made his first Serie A appearance at the Stadio Olimpico since October, coming back from a tough battle with pneumonia.

Vaz also had a chance, blasting over after a corner was knocked into his path. Then Falcone made a sensational double reaction save from point-blank range, though it wouldn't have counted due to offside.
