They closed the gap on leaders Inter Milan to just five points with a thrilling 3-2 win over Torino at the San Siro.
Torino started bright, pressing Milan hard in the first 15 minutes. Ardian Ismajli had a header expertly tipped over by Milan captain Mike Maignan, showing the visitors meant business.
However, after a sluggish start to the contest, the hosts suddenly woke up with the interval looming.
After 36 minutes, a rapid strike from Adrien Rabiot forced Alberto Paleari into action for the first time.
There was nothing the Il Toro goalkeeper could do, though, about Milan’s next shot just moments later, as a sublime 25-yard strike by Strahinja Pavlovic went in off the underside of the bar to edge the Rossoneri in front.
Torino refused to give up and went all out for an equaliser. Just after Pavlovic's stunner, Duvan Zapata had a great chance, but Mike Maignan was equal to his close-range effort.
Il Toro kept pushing and levelled it right on halftime. Nikola Vlasic's 20-yard shot was parried onto the post by Maignan, and the rebound fell to Giovanni Simeone, who tucked it away for his eighth Serie A goal.
Massimiliano Allegri’s half-time team talk must have been an inspirational one, as the hosts came out fighting straight from the restart.

Milan reclaimed the lead after 54 minutes through Rabiot as he met Christian Pulisic’s pass across the face of goal to turn the ball in from six yards. The situation soon became much worse for the visitors.
Milan almost went straight on the attack, and Youssouf Fofana took advantage of Torino's static defense to score and extend their lead. Paleari got a glove to the ball, but it wasn't enough to keep it out.
Torino refused to give up, and they came close to pulling one back midway through the second half. Maignan pulled off an incredible reflex save to stop Giovanni Simeone getting his second.
Drama struck with 10 minutes to go. Torino were awarded a penalty after VAR intervention, with Pavlovic adjudged to have fouled Simeone in the box. Nikola Vlasic stepped up and slammed it into the top corner.
Milan held on despite Torino's late pressure, securing a 3-2 win and keeping the title race hot.

Milan's up to second in Serie A. They're desperate to keep the momentum going and get back-to-back wins after the international break when they face third-placed Napoli away from home.
Torino, on the other hand, remain 14th - but they're breathing a bit easier, six points clear of the relegation zone.
