Manchester City's Rodri has been fined £80,000 and given a warning for his comments after the 2-2 draw at Tottenham. The FA deemed his remarks improper conduct following the heated match.
The Spain midfielder was upset over Solanke's goal, which seemed to involve a foul on Marc Guehi. Rodri's criticism of the officials' decision led to the disciplinary action.
The incident was reviewed by VAR, and they ruled no foul had been committed. Simple as that.
“It was alleged that the midfielder acted in an improper manner during a post-match media interview by making comments that imply bias and/or question the integrity of a match official and/or match officials,” the FA said in a statement.

Rodri, the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner, spoke out against referee Robert Jones' decision, and now he's facing the consequences – an £80,000 fine and a warning from the FA.
“I know we won too much and the people don't want us to win, but the referee has to be neutral,” he said. “It's not fair because we work so hard.”
Arsenal is leading the Premier League table with 67 points from 30 games, while Manchester City is in second place with 60 points from 29 games, having a game in hand. This means City trails Arsenal by seven points, but they have an opportunity to close the gap with their upcoming matches.
