Confusion reigns as US and Belgium's new World Cup kits clash, causing issues for players and fans in their 5-2 friendly match.

US and Belgium's kit color clash sparks debate after 5-2 Belgium win, with both teams debuting new World Cup jerseys...

The US and Belgium's friendly match was marred by a kit color clash, causing confusion for players and fans alike. The US team wore their new red and white striped jerseys, while Belgium sported light blue and pink kits, making it tough to distinguish between the teams.

The match, played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, ended in a 5-2 defeat for the US, with Belgium dominating the second half. Players like Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie admitted the kit clash made it challenging to spot teammates, but insisted it wasn't an excuse for the loss.

US Soccer claimed they had followed protocol, sending pictures of both jerseys to match referees beforehand, but fans were left frustrated by the mix-up.

The US team wore a design that was heavily inspired by the red and white stripes of the American flag, while Belgium opted for their away kit, which featured a light blue color with pink accents. The contrasting colors proved to be a challenge on the pitch.

“Sometimes you had to look twice, especially if you wanted to play quickly,” Belgian winger Jeremy Doku told his national television afterwards. “I would have preferred clearer colours.” American captain Christian Pulisic also chimed in, saying it was difficult to deal with the color clash.

“A lot of times you get the ball and you look up, you can't really lock in on something. You only can base it off the colour of the shirt. That's how it works,” he told reporters. “And when it's very similar, it's difficult.”

Belgian TV apologized to viewers after the match, with analyst and former Belgian international Marc Degryse slashing the organizers, saying they should've caught the kit color clash earlier. Degryse wasn't pleased with how things went down.

“Football is a product that needs to be sold. Everything always has to be better and better, ‌yet they still managed to make the match annoying with the jerseys,” he said.

“This goes completely against the whole commercial aspect. This is really unacceptable.”

US Soccer claims they sent pictures of both jerseys to match referees before the match, and at no point did the referees indicate a conflict. However, Belgian media is pointing fingers at the US, saying they insisted on wearing their new red and white jerseys, which clashed with Belgium's kits.

The US team wore their new “Stripes” kit, featuring red and white bands inspired by the American flag, while Belgium sported their light blue away kit with pink accents. The color clash caused confusion for players and fans alike, with US captain Christian Pulisic saying it was difficult to deal with.

Both the US and Belgium wanted to debut their new jerseys, but things got complicated when they realized their kits clashed. Belgium suggested playing in their traditional red, but that wouldn't work since the US jersey also has a lot of red.

The US could've worn their dark blue kit, but that didn't fit their commercial plan. As a result, the match went ahead with the confusing kit colors, causing frustration for players and fans alike. Christian Pulisic, the US captain, said it was tough to deal with, while Belgian winger Jeremy Doku wished for clearer colors
