Ralf Rangnick's named a 28-man group, including two newly eligible players and a defender with Ghanaian roots – sounds like an exciting matchup.

Strong Austria Squad

Ralf Rangnick's called up a quality-packed squad – veterans Marko Arnautović and Michael Gregoritsch are in, alongside Real Madrid's David Alaba's fellow defender isn't in the squad but Austria has other big guns.

Konrad Laimer and Marcel Sabitzer will lead Austria's midfield, making for a tough Ghana test pre-World Cup.

Dual Heritage Storylines

Austria's squad's got Kevin Danso (Ghanaian roots) and Carney Chukwuemeka (Nigerian heritage) – adds an interesting layer to Ghana's Vienna clash.

Chukwuemeka and Paul Wanner just got FIFA's green light to switch to Austria, giving Rangnick two fresh options ahead of their 2026 World Cup push – both bring tech skills and top-league experience.

The friendly's a test – Rangnick's checking how these new guys fit tactically, could boost Austria's creativity.
