The 40-year-old joins the eight-time German champions on a contract until June 2029, bringing his expertise from Elversberg, where he led the team's rapid rise from the fourth tier to the second division.

Book's impressive track record at Elversberg, including developing young talents like Nick Woltemade and Fisnik Asllani, caught Dortmund's attention. His appointment signals a shift in approach, prioritizing player development and shrewd recruitment. Book expressed his excitement, saying, “Borussia Dortmund is a special club for me with an emotional connection since childhood.”
