Mohamed Salah announces exit from Liverpool, leaving behind a legacy of 255 goals. Salah won multiple trophies, including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.

Liverpool confirm Mohamed Salah's departure at end of season after 9 remarkable years.

Mohamed Salah is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, marking the end of an incredible nine-year journey. The 33-year-old Egyptian forward joined the Reds in 2017 and became a club legend, scoring 255 goals in 435 appearances, making him Liverpool's third-highest scorer ever.

Salah's departure was announced by the club itself, with a statement expressing gratitude for his contributions. In an emotional video message, Salah thanked fans for their support, saying, “Leaving isnever easy. You gave me the best time of my life.”

The Egyptian legend is leaving Anfield with an incredible trophy haul: two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, and Club World Cup. A decorated career at Liverpool comes to an end.

“Unfortunately, the day has come,” Salah began with a statement on social media.

“This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

“I never imagined how deeply this club, this city and the people would become part of my life. Liverpool is not just a football club. It is a passion, a history, a spirit. I can't explain in words.

“We won the most important trophies and we fought together through the hardest time in my life. I want to thank everyone who has been part of this club throughout my time here.”

A Legend Departs

Salah's departure leaves a massive void at Liverpool. The Egyptian joined from Roma in 2017 and became a club icon, scoring 255 goals in 453 appearances. He led the Reds to multiple titles, including two Premier League crowns and the Champions League.

Salah signed a new contract until 2027 last year, but this season's been tough. He's scored 5 goals and assisted 6 in 22 Premier League games under Arne Slot, and Liverpool's fighting for a Champions League spot. Injuries, including a muscle issue, haven't helped his form.

He added: “I don't have enough words. The support you showed me through the best times of my career, and you stood by me in my toughest times. It is something I will never forget.

“Leaving is never easy. I will always be one of you and this club will always be home to me and to my family. Thank you for everything. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone.”

Liverpool described Mohamed Salah's nine-year tenure as “remarkable” and stated that he made the announcement to clarify his future to the club's supporters, showing respect and gratitude for their loyalty. Salah, who joined from Roma in 2017, has won numerous trophies, including two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup, becoming the club's third-highest scorer with 255 goals in 435 appearances.

The club said: “Salah expressed his wish to make this announcement to the supporters at the earliest possible opportunity to provide transparency about his future due to his respect and gratitude for them.”

What's next for the Egyptian star?
