Lewis Hamilton says he's training harder than ever at 41 and having more fun racing in F1...

Lewis Hamilton, 41, says he's more committed to Formula 1 than ever. The seven-time world champion has made a strong start to the season with Ferrari, currently fourth in the championship.

Hamilton believes he trains harder than any other driver, and it's paying off - he's just 18 points behind leader George Russell of Mercedes after two races.

Hamilton's hard work paid off with a third-place finish in China, marking his first podium with Ferrari. He's been putting in the miles, and now he's eyeing a strong performance at the Japanese Grand Prix.

“I was in Tokyo between this race and the last race, I've run like 100 kilometres,” the Briton said.

“I know that none of the drivers I'm racing against have trained as hard as I am and giving it what I am, especially at my age.

“I love that, that I still have that drive to push myself,” he added.

Hamilton joked he's got the early morning grind nailed - finishing his morning run while others were just waking up.

“The commitment is there, more than ever,” he said.

“I dedicate absolutely everything I have to this challenge.”

Ferrari's Hamilton turnaround

Last season was a tough one for Hamilton at Ferrari - he finished sixth in the championship and even got knocked out in Q1 three times in a row, a first in his career.

This season's new regulations have totally flipped the script for Hamilton - he's finding racing a lot more fun with more overtaking on track.

He had a thrilling battle with team-mate Charles Leclerc in Shanghai, coming out on top, and said it's been a while since he's enjoyed wheel-to-wheel action this much.

“That's how racing should be,” he said.

“It should be back and forth; it shouldn't be one move is done and then that's it.”
