Indian Wells draw sets up potential clashes between top seeds and rising stars...
Venus Williams has accepted a wildcard into Indian Wells and will face a qualifier in the first round. If she wins, she could meet Emma Navarro in the second round.
The 45-year-old American is looking to snap an eight-match losing streak and hasn't won a match since July. Indian Wells is a familiar happy place for her – she's won five titles there.
Aryna Sabalenka, the world number one and top seed, is set to face wildcard Alycia Parks in the second round of the Indian Wells tournament, given the current state of qualification. Parks has shown strong form, recently defeating Diana Shnaider and Anna Kalinskaya in earlier rounds.
Sabalenka's path to the title looks challenging, with potential opponents including Maja Joint in the third round, Naomi Osaka in the fourth, and Amanda Anisimova in the quarterfinals.
The Belarusian will likely face tough opponents if she wants to win her first California crown. Naomi Osaka, the 2018 champion, and young star Victoria Mboko are potential hurdles to overcome on the way to the semis.
Mirra Andreeva, who beat Sabalenka in last year's final, could face Peyton Stearns in round two. If she wins, Andreeva could meet Leylah Fernandez or Elina Svitolina on her way to the quarterfinals.
Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, and Jessica Pegula are on the other side of the bracket. Rybakina, the Australian Open champion, could face Pegula in the quarterfinals.

On the men's side, five-time champion Novak Djokovic is seeded third behind Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
Carlos Alcaraz's second-round opponent is looking tough - Grigor Dimitrov! They faced off at Indian Wells last year, and Alcaraz dominated 6-1, 6-1. Meanwhile, defending champion Jack Draper will take on either Fabian Marozsan or Roberto Bautista Agut in the second round. If he advances, he could meet Novak Djokovic in the fourth round.
Sebastian Korda, the home favourite and recent ATP title winner, starts his Indian Wells campaign against Argentina's Francesco Comesana in the first round. If he wins, he'll face sixth seed Alex De Minaur in the second round.
