Harry Kane is eyeing Robert Lewandowski's Bundesliga record of 41 goals after scoring twice in Bayern Munich's 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund. Kane's impressive form has seen him score 30 goals in 24 league games, leaving him just 11 goals shy of Lewandowski's record.
The England captain is confident he can break the record, saying, “I'm in a good moment. I've got to keep doing what I'm doing” and is “for sure”on track to beat the record with 10 games remaining. Kane has scored 45 goals in all competitions this season, his best tally in a single season.
Harry Kane scored twice in Bayern Munich's 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund, bringing his season total to 30 goals and putting him just 11 goals shy of Robert Lewandowski's Bundesliga record of 41, set in the 2020/21 season. “I'm in a good moment. I've got to keep doing what I'm doing,” Kane told Sky Germany, affirming he was “for sure” on track to beat the record with 10 games remaining in the season.
Kane, now 32, has scored 45 goals in all competitions this term, the best mark in his career, with a third of the season remaining. “Sometimes as a striker you go through spells where almost everything you touch goes into the back of the net — whether you finish it well or whether you don’t,” Kane said.
“I know it's a question pretty much after every game right now, but there's still a lot of games to play. I need to try and be consistent over that period.
"We'll see come late April, start of May, if it's possible.”
Robert Lewandowski took the Bundesliga record from German legend Gerd Muller, who scored 40 goals in the 1971/72 season – a mark many thought was unbeatable until Lewandowski hit 41 in 2020/21 with Bayern.

Bayern Munich's win puts them 11 points ahead of Dortmund, making them strong favorites for another league title. However, Harry Kane is urging his team to stay focused and keep pushing, reminding them that an 11-point lead can quickly disappear.
“I don't think it's over. We had an 11-point lead a few weeks ago, and we saw how quickly it can change within two results,“ he said.
“So we have to stay focused. It was obviously a big game, a big momentum shift for us, 11 points. We're in a good position.”
