Pyramids' 2025 CAF Champions League title defense ends with quarterfinal loss to Morocco's FAR Rabat. FAR Rabat shocks Pyramids 2-1, advances 3-2 on aggregate to CAF Champions League semifinals.

FAR Rabat dumps out defending champs Pyramids...

FAR Rabat has knocked out defending champions Pyramids FC from the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, securing a 3-2 aggregate win with a 2-1 home defeat for Pyramids in Cairo. Reda Slim scored early for FAR Rabat, followed by a header from Mohamed Rabie Hrimat in the 54th minute, while Fiston Mayele scored a late consolation for Pyramids.

The loss ends Pyramids' title defense, despite them winning their first African Champions League crown last June against Mamelodi Sundowns. FAR Rabat will now face either RS Berkane or Al-Hilal in the semi-finals, aiming for their second continental crown after winning the African Cup of Champions Clubs in 1985.

Rida Slim gave FAR Rabat the lead in the 9th minute at Cairo's 30 June Stadium. Mohamed Rabie Hrimat doubled their advantage with a header in the 54th minute.

Fiston Mayele pulled one back for Pyramids in the 62nd minute, but the Egyptians couldn't find an equalizer, allowing FAR Rabat to secure their spot in the semis.

FAR Rabat is set to face either fellow Moroccans RS Berkane or Sudan's Al Hilal in the semi-finals, aiming to get closer to their second continental title. They previously won the African Cup of Champions Clubs in 1985 by beating AS Bilima (now AS Dragons) of the then Zaire, now Democratic Republic of Congo.
