Man City's title hopes took a hit as West Ham came from behind to draw 1-1, lifting the Hammers out of the relegation zone.

Despite Pep Guardiola's absence, City dominated possession and pressured West Ham initially, forcing Jarrod Bowen to make a crucial challenge on Rayan Ait-Nouri in his own box.

City dominated possession but struggled to break through West Ham's stubborn defense, with Omar Marmoush's free-kick flying harmlessly wide.

The first shot on target eventually came in the 31st minute and was more than worth the wait for the visitors, with Bernardo Silva collecting Marmoush’s pass before gloriously dinking the ball over Hermansen and inside the far post.

West Ham responded well to the setback and equalised just four minutes later, as Konstantinos Mavropanos rose to meet Bowen’s corner with a towering header that bounced off the crossbar and over the line.

Erling Haaland's clever pass set up Antoine Semenyo for a great chance to put City back in front, but his shot just sailed wide of the post. West Ham's defense was solid, making it tough for City to break through.

After the break, Marmoush had a chance to make it 2-1, but his shot flew wide. Guardiola's team struggled to find a way past West Ham's determined side, who were fighting for survival. City's dominance wasn't translating to goals, and they couldn't find the breakthrough they needed.

Rayan Cherki and Jeremy Doku came on at the hour mark, injecting fresh energy into City's attack. Cherki's pass found Haaland, who was foiled by Hermansen's brilliant save.

The game remained intense, with chances flying in from both sides - Abdukodir Khusanov's header and Doku's strike both sailed over the crossbar. Mavropanos made a crucial block on Matheus Nunes' effort, while Haaland scuffed a shot wide. City kept pushing, with Foden and Reijnders getting minutes off the bench.

They couldn’t find a way through, though, as Hermansen got the finest of touches on Reijnders’ free-kick to tip the ball onto the crossbar, then saved Nico O’Reilly’s header.

Mavropanos topped off a superb performance by bravely blocking Haaland’s volley and another O'Reilly effort, while Marc Guehi fired over as City were forced to settle for back-to-back league draws, denting their title aspirations as they now sit nine points behind Arsenal with a game in hand.

The draw is a big boost for West Ham, lifting them out of the relegation zone.
