Seattle striker Danny Musovski is buzzing with confidence ahead of North Macedonia's World Cup qualifier against Denmark. “We're gonna pull off a huge surprise,” he said.
Musovski, born in Nevada to Macedonian parents, recently got his citizenship and is making his debut for North Macedonia. The striker's got big plans for Thursday's clash at Copenhagen's Parken Stadium.
Macedonian coach Goce Sedloski has included the 30-year-old Sounders forward in the squad for the World Cup playoff semi-finals against Denmark. He's set to make his debut on March 26th at Copenhagen's Parken Stadium, with family cheering him on.
“I'm just really excited to be representing Macedonia. When I got that call in the off-season, it was something I was very excited about. To represent any national team is such an honour, and to get that call from North Macedonia, especially with the big games they have coming up, is something I'm really excited for. You want to represent the country well, as well as your family and yourself,” Musovski proudly explains.
North Macedonia's underdogs are feeling the love, with Musovski predicting a win in Copenhagen. He's eyeing Ireland as their next opponent in the away final on March 31st.
“I definitely believe we're going to win. I don't think any professional soccer player believes they're going to lose a game. We're going into Denmark hoping to get a win. Denmark is a really good team, so it's definitely going to be a tough competition. But Macedonia has a good team as well, so if we put in a good showing, we can do well and hopefully qualify for the World Cup,” concludes Musovski.
