Chelsea winger Pedro Neto has received a one-match suspension and a £70,000 fine for misconduct following his red card in the Premier League defeat to Arsenal. Neto was sent off after receiving two yellow cards within three minutes - one for dissent after an Arsenal goal and another for a foul on Gabriel Martinelli.


The Football Association alleged that Neto acted improperly by failing to leave the pitch promptly and/or using abusive words towards the match officials. Neto has admitted the charge and will miss Chelsea's upcoming match against Newcastle United 


“It was alleged that the player acted in ⁠an improper manner by failing to leave the pitch promptly and/or using abusive words towards the ‌match official/s following his dismissal in the 70th minute,” the FA said.


Chelsea's Pedro Neto has been handed a one-match suspension for misconduct after admitting to the charge related to his red card against Arsenal. This will see him miss the Premier League match against Newcastle United on Saturday. Neto's troubles don't end there, as he's also facing UEFA disciplinary proceedings for pushing a ball boy during Chelsea's 5-2 Champions League loss to Paris St Germain.




The incident with the ball boy has sparked a lot of debate, with some fans defending Neto's actions, saying the ball boy was delaying the game. However, UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against him for “unsporting behaviour.


Neto has apologized for his actions, saying it was a moment of heat and he's not usually like that. He even gave the ball boy his shirt as a gesture of goodwill.
