Former Bundesliga coach Bo Svensson is set to take over as the new coach of FC Copenhagen, replacing Jacob Neestrup.

Svensson, a Danish coach, has signed a multi-year deal with FC Copenhagen after spending nearly a decade coaching in Germany and Austria.

Bo Svensson, 46, has made a name for himself as a coach in Austria and Germany, leading FC Liefering, Mainz 05, and Union Berlin.

“We are very happy to welcome Bo Svensson home to Copenhagen,” says Henrik Mogelmose, Chairman of the Board of Parken Sport & Entertainment.

“He knows what it means to play with the lion on his chest and represent FC Copenhagen, and he is a strong, international coach. He has been in high demand, so we are very happy that we succeeded in signing him.”

“Bo Svensson represents exactly the combination of ambition, experience, and commitment that FC Copenhagen needs – both in the short and long term. Right now we are fully focused on securing 7th place and the cup title, so we have the best possible starting point for next season,” says Henrik Mogelmose.
