The next Summer Olympics are set to take place in Los Angeles, California, from July 14-30, 2028. This will mark the third time Los Angeles has hosted the Games, following previous events in 1932 and 1984. The city is leveraging existing venues and infrastructure to make the Games a success.

Looking ahead to the Winter Olympics, the French Alps will host the 2030 Winter Games, featuring events spread across mountain areas with existing ski resorts and facilities. The goal is to minimize new infrastructure and support regional tourism.

The 2032 Summer Olympics will be held in Brisbane, Australia, marking the city's first time hosting the Games. Brisbane is focusing on using existing venues and creating a sustainable legacy for the community.

2028 Olympic Games: Los Angeles, California

The 2028 Summer Olympics will be held in Los Angeles, California, marking the city's third time hosting the Games after 1932 and 1984. LA joins London and Paris as the only cities to host the Olympics three times. The city is leveraging its existing venues and infrastructure to make the Games a success.

Los Angeles will host the opening and closing ceremonies at iconic venues SoFi Stadium and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The opening ceremony on July 14, 2028, will span both venues, while the closing ceremony will be held solely at The Coliseum, a historic site for the Games.

The 2028 LA Olympics will utilize various iconic venues across the city. The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will host athletics events, while SoFi Stadium will host swimming events. Other venues include (link unavailable) Arena (gymnastics), Intuit Dome (basketball), the Rose Bowl (football), Santa Anita Park (equestrian), and Riviera Country Club (golf). New additions flag football and lacrosse will be played at BMO Stadium, home of LAFC.

Oklahoma City will join LA as a host city, taking on softball and canoe slalom events. LA28 runs from July 12-30, 2028, promising an epic Games.

2030 Olympic Games Host

The 2030 Winter Olympics will be held in the French Alps, marking the region's fourth time hosting the Winter Games after Chamonix 1924, Grenoble 1968, and Albertville 1992.

Hosting Regions and Venues

The Games will be spread across the French Alps, with events in Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Briançon, and Nice. The closing ceremony will take place on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, while the opening ceremony venue is yet to be announced.

Challenges and Preparations

Despite facing tight deadlines and financial constraints, Games chief Edgar Grospiron assures readiness and success. About 85% of venues have been finalized, with speed skating possibly being held in Turin, Italy, or Heerenveen, Netherlands.

The sporting events of the 2030 Olympics will be held across several clusters in the French Alps. The following clusters will host the sports at the 2030 Olympics:

Nice: Stade de Nice (ice hockey), Palais Nikaïa (curling)

Briançon: Serre Chevalier (freestyle skiing, snowboarding (aerials, moguls, big air)), Montgenèvre (freestyle skiing, snowboarding (ski cross, cross halfpipe, slopestyle, parallel giant slalom))

The IOC is yet to confirm venues for speed skating, figure skating, and short-track speed skating. Organising committee president Edgar Grospiron cites cost concerns, ruling out a new venue.

Options include renovating Albertville and/or Grenoble venues or hosting events abroad. Italian and Dutch venues are being considered: Oval Lingotto in Turin and Thialf in Heerenveen.

The 2030 Winter Olympics will take place from February 1-17, 2030, in the French Alps. 

2032 Olympic Games Host

The 2032 Summer Olympics will be held in Brisbane, Australia, marking the city's first time hosting the Games. Brisbane will become the third Australian city to host the Olympics, following Melbourne (1956) and Sydney (2000).

Unique Hosting Aspect

Bris2032 will be the second Summer Olympics held in the host's winter season, after Rio de Janeiro 2016. The Games are expected to showcase Brisbane's climate and culture.

The 2032 Summer Olympics will be spread across Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast. This multi-location approach aims to showcase the region's diversity and infrastructure.

The opening and closing ceremonies are set for Brisbane Olympic Stadium on July 23rd, 2032. The stadium, currently under planning, will also host athletics events, with construction slated to start in 2026-2027 and finish by 2031-2032.

The following Brisbane venues will organise sporting events:

National Aquatic Centre (swimming, diving, water polo, artistic swimming), South Bank Piazza (3x3 basketball), Lang Park (football), Sleeman Sports Complex (track cycling, BMX racing), Brisbane International Shooting Centre (shooting), Royal Queensland Golf Club (golf), Springfield Central Stadium (modern pentathlon), Brisbane Entertainment Centre (basketball), Moreton Bay Indoor Sports Centre (boxing), Redland Whitewater Centre (canoe slalom), Queensland Tennis Centre (tennis), The Gabba (cricket), Brisbane Showgrounds (TBA), Queensland State Netball Centre (TBA).

The following Gold Coast venues will organise sporting events:

Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre (volleyball, weightlifting), Broadbeach Park Stadium (beach volleyball), Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre (judo, wrestling), Southport Broadwater Parklands (field hockey), Coomera Indoor Sports Centre (volleyball), Robina Stadium (football), Gold Coast Arena (TBA).

The following Sunshine Coast venues will organise sporting events:

Sunshine Coast Stadium (football), Sunshine Coast Indoor Sports Centre (TBA), Alexandra Headland (road cycling, marathon, race walks, kiteboarding), Sunshine Coast Mountain Bike Centre (mountain bike).

In addition to Brisbane Olympic Stadium, the following venues are yet to be built:

Moreton Bar Indoor Sports Centre, Redland Whitewater Centre, Gold Coast Arena, Sunshine Coast Indoor Sports Centre, and both Logan City venues.

The 2032 Olympic Games will be held between July 23rd and August 8th, 2032.

2034 Olympic Games Host

The 2034 Winter Olympics will be held in Utah, USA, marking the country's fifth Winter Games and tenth Olympics overall. Utah 2034 will showcase the state's winter sports infrastructure.

Salt Lake City's Return

Salt Lake City will become the fifth city to host multiple Winter Olympics, after previously hosting in 2002. The city is leveraging existing venues and infrastructure for the Games.

The Olympic Games in Utah will be held across two different zones: the Salt Lake City Zone and the Wasatch Back Zone. Two venues have been placed outside both zones.

The opening and closing ceremonies of Utah 2034 will be held in Rice-Eccles Stadium, the stadium of the University of Utah, in Salt Lake City. Rice-Eccles Stadium also hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2002 Olympics. However, as before, the stadium will not host any sporting events.

The following Salt Lake City Zone venues will host sporting events:

Block 85 (snowboarding (big air), freestyle skiing (big air), Medals Plaza), Delta Center (ice hockey), Maverik Center (figure skating, short track speed skating), Salt Palace (curling), Utah Olympic Oval (speed skating)

The following Wasatch Back Zone venues will host sporting events:

Deer Valley (freestyle skiing (aerials & moguls), Park City Mountain Resort (snowboarding (halfpipe & slopestyle), freestyle skiing (halfpipe & slopestyle)), Soldier Hollow (biathlon, cross-country skiing, Nordic combined), Utah Olympic Park Track (bobsleigh, luge, skeleton), Utah Olympic Park Jumps (ski jumping, Nordic combined)

The two venues outside these zones are Peaks Ice Arena in Provo, where ice hockey will be hosted, and Snowbasin Resort in Weber County, where alpine skiing will be hosted. 

The 2034 Olympic Games will be held between February 10 and 26, 2034.

2036 Olympic Games Host

No host nation has been elected yet for the 2036 Summer Olympics, and the IOC hasn't disclosed a timeline. Several countries have submitted bids, though.

• India: Ahmedabad is the proposed host city, with events spread across multiple cities.

• Germany: Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, and Rhine-Ruhr region are potential host cities, despite concerns about the 1936 Nazi Games anniversary.

• Qatar: Doha is a strong contender, with 80% of required venues already existing.

• Indonesia: Nusantara, the new capital, is being considered.

• Mexico: Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Tijuana are potential host cities.

• South Africa: The country is considering a bid, with Cape Town a possible host city.

• Italy: Northern Italy, including Venice and Lake Garda, is being explored.

• Chile: Santiago is a potential host city.

• Turkey: Istanbul is being considered.

• China: Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau are exploring a joint bid.

• South Korea: Seoul and North Jeolla Province are bidding.

• Saudi Arabia: Riyadh is a potential host city.

• Hungary: Budapest is interested in hosting.

• Poland: Warsaw is a possible host city.

• Canada: Toronto-Montreal is considering a joint bid.

2038 Olympic Games Host

The 2038 Winter Olympics host nation is yet to be elected, with the IOC set to make a decision by the end of 2027.

Confirmed Bid

Switzerland is the only confirmed bidder, proposing a decentralized model with events in Geneva, Lausanne, Crans-Montana, Lugano, Zug, Zurich, Engelberg, Lenzerheide, and St. Moritz. The country aims to leverage existing venues and infrastructure.

Potential Alternatives

Canada has expressed interest in bidding if Switzerland's bid falls through, with potential venues in Western Canada and possibly Lake Placid, New York.
