Finland's Football Association is expressing extreme disappointment after being drawn into Group C1 of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League with Belarus, alongside Albania and San Marino. The group stage is set to take place from September to November 2026.

The Finnish team was relegated from League B in the previous edition and now faces the challenge of competing against Belarus, despite calls to suspend Belarus from international competitions following the war in Ukraine. A meeting is scheduled to determine the location of the home match against Belarus, with speculation of a potential neutral venue.

The Finland men's national team expressed disappointment on their official social media accounts about Belarus being part of the competition. “The football association and the Finnish team are still extremely disappointed that Belarus is a part of the competition.”

Belarus hasn't faced a ban like Russia did after the 2022 Ukraine war, despite many calling for similar action against the White Wings.

The statement added that a meeting on March 16th will decide the location of the home match against Belarus, fueling speculation of a potential neutral venue.

The Finnish FA is involving key stakeholders in deciding the Belarus match venue, saying “players, supporters and other key stakeholders will also be heard in the matter.”

Meanwhile, Finland's got friendlies lined up - New Zealand and Cape Verde at Eden Park in March, and Hungary away in June.
