Ten-man Go Ahead Eagles hold on for long periods but Feyenoord win 1-0 against Go Ahead Eagles, thanks to late penalty from Casper Tengstedt

Feyenoord's match against Go Ahead Eagles was a nail-biter, but Casper Tengstedt's late penalty secured a 1-0 win for Robin van Persie's side. Go Ahead Eagles had been playing with 10 men since the 15th minute, when Thibo Baeten received a red card for a harsh tackle on Oussama Targhalline.
Feyenoord's lineup saw two changes, with Jakub Moder replacing the suspended Luciano Valente in midfield, and Fulham loanee Steven Benda taking Timon Wellenreuther's spot in goal. Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, Feyenoord struggled to break down Go Ahead's defense.
Feyenoord got a major boost when Go Ahead Eagles' Thibo Baeten was red-carded for a nasty foul on Oussama Targhalline. Baeten's harsh tackle left Targhalline injured and sent off the field.
Feyenoord's attack was relentless, but Go Ahead Eagles' defense held firm in the first half. Ayase Ueda hit the woodwork, and chances galore went begging for Feyenoord, with Moder, Bos, Hwang, and Watanabe all failing to find the net.
Van Persie decided 20 minutes was enough for Sem Steijn, who he'd named captain after arriving from FC Twente last summer, and replaced the midfielder with striker Casper Tengstedt during half-time.
The Dane took place next to Ueda and created danger alongside the Japanese hitman, but to no avail, as Joris Kramer cleared the ball off the line once, and Ueda and Tengstedt missed big chances.
Feyenoord's Late Frustration
Feyenoord had a barrage of chances, earning 17 corners by the midway point of the second half, but Go Ahead Eagles' defense and goalkeeper De Busser stood firm, denying Feyenoord a goal.
Feyenoord were eventually given a lucky break by referee Marc Nagtegaal, who'd denied Go Ahead Eagles a penalty after Ayase Ueda hit Mathis Suray on his Achilles and gave Feyenoord a penalty in the first minute of added time after Evert Linthorst kicked the leg of Casper Tengstedt.
Jari De Busser had a reputation as a penalty killer, but Casper Tengstedt's spot-kick was too much for him. The Dane scored through the middle, securing a late 1-0 win for Feyenoord.

Jari De Busser had the reputation of a penalty killer, but could not stop Tengstedt's spot-kick, which went right through the middle and gave Feyenoord an extremely late lead.
Tengstedt earned Feyenoord three hard-earned points that keep them firmly in second place. Go Ahead Eagles, meanwhile, are in a rush to get some points with the relegation zone just four points away for the reigning KNVB Beker winners.
