FC Copenhagen got a much-needed boost to their season with a narrow 2-1 win over Viborg in the Danish Cup semi-final first leg. The reigning champions are slowly getting back on track after a shaky start to the season.
Viborg started strong, thinking they'd taken the lead in the 7th minute when Jeppe Gronning scored, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Copenhagen's Dominik Kotarski was relieved.
Copenhagen struck back just 14 minutes in! William Clem intercepted a loose pass from Viborg goalkeeper Lucas Lund, rounded him, and coolly scored to make it 1-0. The Parken Stadium erupted, and Copenhagen's momentum shifted.
Viborg pushed hard for an equalizer, but Copenhagen's defense held strong.
Viborg refused to back down and were rewarded in the 18th minute. Charly Nouck's precise delivery from the right flank set up Dorian Junior for a stunning goal, kicking the ball into the roof of the net.

Copenhagen's response was immediate, but Viborg's resilience kept them in the game.
FC Copenhagen came out firing in the second half, and it paid off. Mohamed Elyounoussi headed home a cross from Oliver Hojer 4 minutes after restart, restoring Copenhagen's lead.
Viborg pushed hard in the final stretch, but Copenhagen's defense held firm. Dominik Kotarski made a crucial save on Tim Freriks' header, securing the narrow 2-1 win for Copenhagen. Coach Jacob Neestrup's halftime words must've done the trick.
