Wang Xindi made history by winning gold in men's aerials at the Winter Olympics, marking his first podium finish after three Winter Games. This victory strengthens China's dominance in the discipline, following Xu Mengtao's successful defense of her women's aerials title on Wednesday.

Xu Mengtao, China's aerials queen, retained her title with a score of 112.90, becoming the first athlete to win two Olympic gold medals in aerials. She was joined on the podium by Danielle Scott of Australia, who took silver, and China's Shao Qi, who claimed bronze.

Wang Xindi of China took home the gold medal in men's aerials with an impressive score of 132.60, out of a possible 150. Current world champion Noé Roth of Switzerland secured silver with a score of 131.58, while Olympic debutant Li Tianma of China claimed bronze with 123.93.

The competition was fierce, with China's dominance in aerials on full display. Wang's win marks a strong start for China in the discipline, following Xu Mengtao's gold medal win in women's aerials.

China's dominance in freestyle skiing's aerials event continued with Li Tianma claiming bronze, at the Winter Olympics in Livigno. The competition saw 24 contestants narrowed down to six over three rounds, with China's four athletes making it to the final. American Quinn Dehlinger had to withdraw due to injury during training.

In the final, Wang Xindi scored 132.60 points, beating Switzerland's Noe Roth, who took silver with 131.58 points, and Li Tianma, who claimed bronze with 123.93 points. China's Qi Guangpu, a five-time Olympian, came sixth. The event was held in snowy, overcast conditions in Livigno, with China's strong performance showcasing their supremacy in the discipline.

China's dominance in aerials is expected to continue on Saturday with the mixed teams final, the penultimate day of the Milano Cortina Olympics. The event features athletes performing complex aerobatics while airborne, with judges scoring height, distance, style, difficulty, and landing.

Aerials has been a thrilling part of the Winter Games since 1994, showcasing gravity-defying skills. China's Xu Mengtao recently defended her women's aerials title, becoming the first skier to win back-to-back Olympic golds in the event.

In men's aerials, athletes launch off a steep ramp at speeds over 65 km/h, performing complex aerobatics while airborne. Judges score on height, distance, style, difficulty, and landing.
