PSV Eindhoven's impressive 14-game unbeaten streak came to an end as they fell 3-2 to Atletico Madrid in a thrilling Champions League encounter. The Dutch champions had been on a hot streak, winning 10 of their previous 11 games, but Atletico Madrid's strong comeback proved too much for them.
Atletico Madrid initially struggled to break down PSV's defense, with Marc Pubill and Nico Gonzalez failing to find the back of the net against goalkeeper Matej Kovar. However, the Spanish side eventually turned the game around, with Julian Alvarez, David Hancko, and Alexander Sorloth scoring crucial goals for Atletico Madrid.
PSV Eindhoven took an early lead against Atletico Madrid through a lightning-quick counter-attack. Ismael Saibari's perfectly weighted deep ball launched Couhaib Driouech onto the attack, and the Moroccan winger found a wide-open Guus Til, who tapped the ball into an empty goal.
The goal took the wind out of Atletico's sails, and PSV continued to pile on the pressure. However, Driouech failed to capitalize on his stellar first-half performance, firing the ball wide on one counter and inexplicably passing up a free, unobstructed shot at goal on another.
Atletico Madrid intensified their attack in the final 15 minutes of the first half, putting PSV Eindhoven under immense pressure in their own half. This relentless pressure paid off when Julian Alvarez scored the equalizer, calmly slotting the ball into an empty net after PSV centre-back Yarek Gasiorowski's mistake in front of his own penalty box.
PSV Eindhoven seemed to lose control of the game, and Atletico Madrid nearly scored again when Alexander Sorloth had a great chance, but Czech goalkeeper Matej Kovar made a crucial save to keep the score level.
Just after the break, Atletico Madrid took the lead through David Hancko's goal. Nahuel Molina's long-range shot proved troublesome for Matej Kovar, who couldn't parry it away safely, allowing Hancko to tap the ball home in the 52nd minute.
Atletico Madrid extended their lead when Alexander Sorloth headed home a perfect cross from Pablo Barrios in the 57th minute. Sorloth was left uncontested, and his header sealed a 3-1 lead for the Spanish side.
PSV Eindhoven pushed hard for a comeback, but they struggled to create clear-cut chances as the clock ticked down. Despite their best efforts, they couldn't quite find the breakthrough they needed, and Atletico Madrid looked set to hold on for the win.

American striker Ricardo Pepi handed PSV Eindhoven a lifeline, scoring a late goal to pull the score back to 3-2. Pepi made a clever run to the second post, tapping the ball home with five minutes remaining.
PSV Eindhoven had a golden opportunity to grab a late equalizer, but it was snatched away from them. Centre-half Armando Obispo was presented with a tap-in, but the Curacao international failed to connect properly, sending the ball wide. This proved to be the last big chance for the home side.
The missed opportunity ultimately proved costly, as Atletico Madrid held on to secure a 3-2 win. The result marked PSV's first loss in 15 games, while Atletico Madrid extended their winning streak in the UEFA Champions League to three games.
