Liverpool's Mohamed Salah faces uncertain future after criticizing club, omitted from Inter Milan clash. Team struggles with poor start to season, 10th in Premier League.
“I hope he plays again for the club. That's a personal situation between Mo and the club...”
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah's omission from Tuesday's Champions League game at Inter Milan is a result of his reaction to being left out of the side, according to teammate Alisson Becker. Salah, 33, wasn't included in the 19-man squad for the Inter clash after criticizing the club in a post-match interview, saying he'd been “thrown under the bus.”
Becker stated, “Salah not being available is just a consequence of what he did, and he is smart enough to know that.” The Brazilian goalkeeper expressed hope for Salah's return, saying, “I hope he plays again for the club. That's a personal situation between Mo and the club.”
“Salah not being available is just a consequence of what he did, and he is smart enough to know that. I didn't speak to Mo about that,” the Brazilian goalkeeper told reporters.
“We share good moments, happy moments, so that creates a bond. We will have a conversation, but that is personal.”
Mohamed Salah, who has scored 250 goals and won two Premier League titles and a Champions League with Liverpool, has been struggling for consistent starts under Arne Slot. He was left on the bench in last month's 2-0 win at West Ham United and came on as a substitute in the 1-1 home draw with Sunderland, only to be an unused substitute again at Leeds.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot is uncertain about Mohamed Salah's future at the club, stating he has “no clue” if the Egyptian forward has played his last game for Liverpool. Salah was omitted from the squad for Tuesday's Champions League clash against Inter Milan after criticizing the club and Slot in a post-match interview.
Alisson Becker, Liverpool's goalkeeper, expressed hope for Salah's return, saying, “I hope he plays again for the club. That's a personal situation between Mo and the club.” Alisson added that Salah's omission is a consequence of his actions and that the team is focused on getting back to winning ways.
“I hope he plays again for the club. That's a personal situation between Mo and the club,” he said.
“We, as his teammates and his friends, we hope the best thing happens for him, but as Liverpool FC players, we want the best for the club as well. We want a win-win situation for everyone.”

Liverpool's Alisson Becker says Mohamed Salah's omission from the Champions League game against Inter Milan is a direct result of his reaction to being left out of the side. Salah, 33, was excluded from the 19-man squad after criticizing the club in a post-match interview, stating he felt “thrown under the bus.”
Mohamed Salah has scored just five goals in 19 games this season, and he's feeling frustrated with Liverpool's poor start. He believes he's being made a scapegoat for the team's struggles, which have seen them drop to 10th place, 10 points behind leaders Arsenal.
Salah's comments come after he was left on the bench for Liverpool's 3-3 draw with Leeds United, their third consecutive game without a win. The Egyptian forward has been a key player for Liverpool, scoring 250 goals in 420 appearances, but his form has been underwering this season.
