Ousmane Dembele, PSG's star forward, won't be playing in Wednesday's Champions League match against Athletic Bilbao due to illness. The 2025 Ballon d'Or winner has been unwell since Monday and wasn't deemed fit for the game in Spain.

Dembele's absence is a big blow for PSG, who are second in the league phase with 12 points from five games. Athletic Bilbao, on the other hand, are struggling in 27th place with just four points.

This isn't the first time Dembele has been sidelined this season - he's struggled with injuries, including a calf injury and a hamstring injury earlier this year. Goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier is also out due to an ankle injury, and Matvei Safonov is expected to start in goal.

Ousmane Dembele's absence is another blow for PSG, given their recent inconsistent form. He's been struggling with match fitness, missing games against Lyon and Le Havre due to a calf injury. Dembele did return to action on November 26th, playing 12 minutes as a substitute in PSG's 5-3 Champions League win over Tottenham.

Dembele's recent appearances have been brief, but he's been building up his match fitness. He played 12 minutes against Tottenham, and around 30 minutes each against Monaco and Rennes, where he even set up a goal for Goncalo Ramos. His illness is a setback, but he was showing signs of returning to form.

PSG are currently 2nd with 12 points from 5 games, while Athletic Bilbao are struggling in 27th place with 4 points.
