Olympiacos finally broke their 12-game away losing streak in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) with a 1-0 win over Kairat Almaty. The Greek side ended their winless run in the competition with a crucial victory, thanks to a solid defensive effort and clinical finishing.
Kairat Almaty had early chances, but Olympiacos goalkeeper José Sá made crucial saves to keep the score level. The home side's pressure eventually paid off, as they created and capitalized on scoring opportunities, securing a vital three points in the process.
Gelson Martins had a shot blocked by Yegor Sorokin, but the pressure was on. Anarbekov made a great save on El Kaabi's header, and the game was heating up. The hosts were determined to stay level, despite Olympiacos' growing pressure.

The breakthrough came in the 73rd minute - Mehdi Taremi slid the ball forward for Gelson Martins, who squeezed his shot past Anarbekov. The goalkeeper had left a tiny gap at his near post, and Martins capitalized.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper made spectacular saves to deny Taremi and El Kaabi, but Olympiacos held on to secure a crucial 1-0 win. El Kaabi hit the crossbar, but it wasn't enough for Kairat Almaty to equalize.
Olympiacos' win takes them up to five points, renewing hopes of reaching the play-offs. Meanwhile, Kairat Almaty suffer their third consecutive defeat, leaving them on one point and struggling to stay in contention.
