UEL: Stuttgart Stuns Go Ahead Eagles 4-0 in Europa League Thrilling Encounter

Stuttgart Vs Go Ahead Eagles
Stuttgart's thrilling 4-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles

Stuttgart absolutely demolished Go Ahead Eagles 4-0 in the UEFA Europa League, putting on a masterclass in Dutch soil. The German side was on fire, and the Eagles couldn't handle their pace and skill.

This was Go Ahead's first major European match against German opposition, and it didn't go well...

Stuttgart came out firing on all cylinders, thrashing Go Ahead Eagles 4-0 in the Europa League. The Germans were on fire, and the Dutch side couldn't cope. Stuttgart's away form just got a whole lot better.

First, Deniz Undav had a half-chance after getting on the end of a cross into the box, but his header was comfortably gathered.

Jamie Leweling was next to have a go for the visitors after he was played through down the left flank, and after he bore down on goal, his effort was saved by the body of Jari De Busser

Stuttgart continued to dominate proceedings and finally made it count in the 20th minute when a high press forced a turnover, allowing Leweling to collect the ball in the box before poking home for the opener.

The home side struggled to gain a foothold in the contest and conceded again 15 minutes later after they were picked apart on the counter. Leweling was sent racing down the left flank before cutting inside and drilling his shot into the bottom left corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

The Eagles' struggles were summarised by the fact that the hosts failed to register a shot on target in the first half, a clear indication of Stuttgart's dominance in the game.

Go Ahead Eagles' coach, Melvin Boel, wasn't pleased with his team's performance at half time, making two changes in an attempt to spark a revival. But Stuttgart's dominance continued, and they scored a third goal just before the hour mark. Leweling's cross was met by Undav, who laid it off for El Khannouss to score.

Stuttgart's pressure continued, and they created chance after chance. The changes made by Boel hadn't had the desired effect, and the Eagles were struggling to cope with Stuttgart's pace and skill. The game was slipping away from them.

The Eagles' hopes of a comeback were dashed, and Stuttgart cruised to a 4-0 win, adding a fourth goal through Bouanani in stoppage time. Go Ahead Eagles' struggles are a concern for Boel, with the 4-0 defeat a harsh reminder of their shortcomings.

Stuttgart's win moves them up the table, just a point off the top eight. The German side will be delighted with their performance, and they'll be looking to build on this momentum in their next game.
