The match was tense, with both teams seeking their first win of the season, but Monaco's Folarin Balogun scored the decisive goal in the 43rd minute, assisted by Maghnes Akliouche. Bodo/Glimt had several chances to equalize but couldn't capitalize on them, and the situation worsened when Jostein Gundersen was sent off in the 81st minute for a reckless tackle. Monaco held on for the win, earning them their first points in the competition this season.

Kasper Hogh had an early opportunity for Bodø/Glimt, recording the first shot on target with a header midway through the opening half that Philipp Kohn easily saved. However, Monaco soon took control of the match.

Maghnes Akliouche and Folarin Balogun combined beautifully to break the deadlock, with Akliouche feeding Balogun in behind, who then struck the ball into the roof of the net from close range, scoring his first-ever Champions League goal.

Despite trailing, Bodø/Glimt responded well, and Kasper Hogh nearly equalized just before halftime, hitting the post with a well-placed shot. The match remained intense as both teams pushed for their objectives.

Bodø/Glimt maintained their momentum into the second half, with Patrick Berg's free-kick forcing a save from Philipp Kohn. Jens Petter Hauge and Kasper Høgh also had shots, but Kohn was equal to the task, making comfortable saves. Høgh, in particular, came close to scoring, with one shot flying just inches wide of the post.

Bodo/Glimt's hopes of salvaging a draw were dashed when substitute Jostein Gundersen was sent off for a reckless tackle on Mika Biereth, which was upgraded to a red card after VAR review. This followed Folarin Balogun's goal in the 43rd minute, where he received a pass from Maghnes Akliouche and scored with a precise shot into the top corner.

As a result of the loss, Bodo/Glimt suffered back-to-back defeats and remain winless in the Champions League this season. Meanwhile, Monaco secured their first win in the league phase, rebounding from a 1-0 loss to Paris FC in Ligue 1.
