Bayern Munich extended their winning streak to 16 games with a 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League. Luis Diaz scored both of Bayern's goals, but his night took a turn when he was sent off for a rash challenge on Achraf Hakimi just before halftime.
The match saw PSG dominate possession in the second half but struggle to create clear-cut chances against Bayern's resolute defense. Joao Neves finally scored for PSG in the 74th minute with a spectacular volley from Lee Kang-In's cross, but it was too little, too late, as Bayern held on for the win.
This victory marked Bayern's fifth consecutive win against PSG and made them the first team to beat PSG in three successive Champions League away matches. Meanwhile, PSG's loss ended their eight-match unbeaten run and continued their trend of failing to win their fourth group match in each of the last five Champions League seasons.
Bradley Barcola's misdirected pass led to an opportunity for Bayer Leverkusen's Aleksandar Pavlovic, whose shot deflected off Willian Pacho and went wide.
In the 22nd minute, Paris Saint-Germain thought they had equalized when Ousmane Dembele chested down a cross from Fabian Ruiz and appeared to have scored. However, the goal was disallowed due to an offside call on Dembele.
Dembele's night worsened when he was replaced by Lee Kang-in after 25 minutes due to an injury. PSG's struggles continued as Barcola was released behind Bayern's defense but couldn't beat Manuel Neuer with a one-on-one chance. Serge Gnabry also had a shot that hit both posts, defying expectations.
However, Bayern's dominance was reasserted when Luis Diaz brilliantly stole the ball from Marquinhos and slotted it past the goalkeeper with precision, doubling Bayern's lead just before halftime.
Bayern Munich escaped further punishment after a lapse in concentration, with Josip Stanisic having a goal ruled out for offside and Joshua Kimmich shooting narrowly wide of the post.
However, the first half ended on a sour note for Bayern as Luis Diaz was sent off for a rash challenge on Achraf Hakimi, forcing the Moroccan defender off the pitch with an injury just before halftime.
The match resumed after halftime with Bayern attempting to slow the pace, earning a booking for Manuel Neuer for time wasting just four minutes in. Meanwhile, PSG persisted with their attack, but Bradley Barcola squandered an opportunity from Nuno Mendes' cross.
Vitinha managed to find space between the Bayern defenders, delivering a pass to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, whose shot was comfortably saved. The Georgian winger then attempted an ambitious strike of his own, which was palmed away.

PSG finally managed to break through Bayern's defense in the 74th minute, courtesy of a well-taken goal by João Neves, who volleyed home Lee Kang-in's precise cross.
Despite PSG's relentless pressure, Bayern's defense, marshaled by Dayot Upamecano, held firm, and Manuel Neuer made crucial saves, including one from Warren Zaire-Emery, to deny the hosts an equalizer. Neves and Lee both had opportunities to level the score, but Bayern's goalkeeper Neuer and the defense made vital interventions to secure the win.
A truly special player 🌟
