Eintracht Frankfurt's Champions League campaign is in jeopardy, with just one win in five matches and a second consecutive 3+ goal home loss...

Atalanta BC pulled off a stunning comeback, striking three times in just five minutes to secure a 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. The Italian side were looking to bounce back from a 0-0 draw at Napoli, but it was Frankfurt who had the early chances.

Eintracht Frankfurt had the game's first major chance, with Fares Chaibi forcing Marco Carnesecchi into a brilliant save after 11 minutes. However, Atalanta would go on to take control, with their speed and skill paying off in the second half.

That sparked some other main threats in the Eagles' camp, and Robin Koch should've done better with his header, which flew wide just three minutes later. Atalanta were expected to respond, but it took 'til the 26th minute for them to seriously test Michael Zetterer – and it was a tame effort from Davide Zappacosta that did the trick.

Michael Zetterer was really fortunate 10 minutes before halftime. Ademola Lookman's shot hit the right-hand post, and just as it seemed like the rebound would go in, Gianluca Scamacca's effort hit the same spot, denying Frankfurt a goal and sending the game into halftime goalless.

Atalanta came out strong in the second half, and Michael Zetterer was quick to react, sprinting from his goal line to prevent Ademola Lookman from celebrating prematurely. However, Zetterer couldn't stop Atalanta's stunning comeback, as they scored three goals in just five minutes, starting from the hour mark. The Bergamo outfit's devastating blitz left Deutsche Bank Park in silence.

Atalanta's goals were a work of art. Ademola Lookman scored the first, volleying home Charles De Ketelaere's clever delivery. He then turned provider, setting up Ederson to slot the ball past Michael Zetterer. The Bergamo outfit's third goal was just as devastating, with De Ketelaere hammering home the rebound after Gianluca Scamacca's shot hit the bar.

The atmosphere at Deutsche Bank Park was electric, with the home fans left stunned by Atalanta's ruthless attacking.

Michael Zetterer made a crucial save in the 69th minute, denying Berat Djimsiti's header and giving Frankfurt some relief from Atalanta's relentless pressure. However, the damage was already done, and Atalanta had secured a comfortable 3-0 win.

Despite their impressive performance, Atalanta remains outside the top eight in the Champions League standings, relying on goal difference. To secure a spot in the Round of 16, they'll need to replicate their clinical finishing against Chelsea on matchday six.

Eintracht Frankfurt's Champions League campaign is in jeopardy, with just one win in five matches and a second consecutive 3+ goal home loss. Their chances of replicating their 1959/60 European Cup run are fading fast, and they'll need a strong finish to salvage their season.
