Rangers Football Club has parted ways with chief executive Patrick Stewart and sporting director Kevin Thelwell, citing a mismatch between the duo and the club's vision for the future. The decision comes after a disappointing start to the season, which saw manager Russell Martin sacked in October.

Stewart and Thelwell had faced criticism from Rangers fans, who were unhappy with the team's performances. The club is now looking to move forward, with a new era beckoning at Ibrox.

Rangers FC has appointed director Fraser Thornton as interim chief executive, following the departure of former Manchester United chief executive Stewart. Thornton's appointment comes after a US-based consortium, led by Andrew Cavenagh, took over the club. The search is on for replacements for Stewart and Michael Thelwell, who was announced as director of football in April.

Thelwell, who joined Rangers from Everton at the end of last season, and Stewart, who arrived in December, have left their positions as part of the club's restructuring. Rangers are looking to fill these key roles as they look to move forward under new ownership.

Rangers are on a roll, winning four league games in a row under Danny Rohl, but still trail Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts by nine points. The Gers are looking to close the gap as they push for the top spot.
