A football agent has been taken into custody following allegations of threatening a Premier League player with a firearm, as reported by British media outlets. The incident reportedly occurred on September 6 in London, where the player, who is in his 20s and cannot be named due to legal restrictions, was accompanied by a friend during the late-night encounter.
According to the Metropolitan Police, they received a distress call at 23:14 local time on September 6 regarding a man being threatened with a gun. An investigation was launched, and a 31-year-old suspect was arrested two days later on suspicion of possession of firearms with intent, blackmail, and driving offenses.
According to The Sun, the 31-year-old suspect was arrested just two days after the alleged incident and released on bail on September 9, with strict conditions not to contact the Premier League player.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that they responded to a reported incident on September 6 at 23:14 local time in North London, where a man in his 20s was allegedly threatened with a firearm.
“Officers spoke to the victim and during the course of their investigation it was also reported another man in his 20s had also allegedly been blackmailed and threatened by the same individual. No injuries were reported in either incident,” they said.
“A 31-year-old man was arrested on Monday 8 September on suspicion of possession of firearms with intent, blackmail and driving without a license. He has been bailed while enquiries continue.”
