Getafe has snapped a two-game losing streak in La Liga with a 1-0 win over Elche at the Estadio Coliseum. This victory marks their second win in six head-to-head matches against Elche, with Mauro Arambarri scoring the lone goal. Getafe's win closes the gap in their pursuit of a European spot, as both teams are currently within striking distance of the top spots.
Getafe dominated possession in the first half but struggled to create clear scoring chances. Elche, on the other hand, had a few promising attacks, including a shot that flashed past the post. After the break, Getafe improved and eventually took the lead through Arambarri's goal, which proved to be the winner.
Getafe and Elche had a promising spell before the break, with Getafe's Iago Aspas getting a chance, but it was Elche's turn to threaten next. A great one-two between Elche's Pere Milla and Javi MartÃn almost gave them the lead, but Getafe's goalkeeper David Soria was equal to it. Then, Elche's Javi MartÃn RodrÃguez played Óscar Fort in on goal, but the Barcelona loanee's shot was tipped around the post by Soria, frustrating Elche.

The chances were few and far between after that, and the teams went into the break goalless. The first half was a tight, cagey affair, with neither team able to gain a clear advantage. Getafe's dominance in possession didn't quite translate to clear-cut chances, while Elche's attacks were snuffed out by the home side's defense.
Getafe's win was sealed with Arambarri's goal, as Elche struggled to create any real threat in the second half, managing just one shot on target. The home side's defense was solid, and they deserved the three points.
Getafe remains in seventh place, but they're closing in on the European spots. Their third win in 12 home league matches is a step in the right direction. Elche, on the other hand, is stuck in mid-table, with concerns growing after seven games without a win (D3, L4). Their lack of goals and poor form is a worry, and they'll need to regroup quickly.
