Burnley struggled to get out of their own half, with Brentford dominating possession. Mikel Damsgaard had a great chance, almost finding Igor Thiago in the box, but the striker's effort was surprisingly off target, hitting the post.
Despite dominating the game, Brentford's attack wasn't as clinical as expected, allowing Burnley to stay in the game. However, it was clear that Burnley were struggling to cope with Brentford's pressure, and it was only a matter of time before the Bees scored.
Damsgaard's energy was giving Burnley defenders a tough time, and they finally woke up after his 20-yard strike flew narrowly over. Axel Tuanzebe had a chance to put Burnley ahead, but his shot was straight at Caoimhin Kelleher, and he was also offside.
Burnley ended the half on a positive note, with Zian Flemming's strike from the edge of the area forcing Kelleher into a save. It was a much-needed boost for the Clarets, who had been on the back foot for most of the first half.
Looks like Keith Andrews' halftime pep talk did the trick. Brentford came out firing in the second half, and Igor Thiago finally broke the deadlock, only for the goal to be ruled out due to offside.
The pressure was on Burnley, and Dango Ouatarra went close with a header that flashed inches wide. Chances kept coming for Brentford, but Igor Thiago's next opportunity was wasted as he sliced his shot over from inside the area – what a waste.
Jaidon Anthony was fouled by Michael Kayode, and Flemming converted the penalty to level the scores. But Brentford wouldn't be denied – Igor Thiago had the final say, scoring a thrilling winner with a rocket into the roof of the net.
Thiago's late brace secured a dramatic 3-1 win for Brentford, and they'll feel they earned it.
Meanwhile, Burnley's misery continued as they slipped further into the bottom three, struggling to find their next points. To make matters worse, Ouattara added a third goal in stoppage time, sealing a convincing win for Brentford.
