Arsenal maintained their impressive record against newly-promoted teams, securing a 2-0 win over Burnley and extending their lead at the top of the Premier League table to seven points. The Gunners' set-piece prowess proved decisive once again, as they capitalized on their scoring opportunities.

Burnley were well aware of Arsenal's threat from set pieces, but it was the visitors who struck first, courtesy of a well-executed corner routine that resulted in Viktor Gyokeres scoring in the 14th minute. Declan Rice doubled Arsenal's advantage just before halftime with a clinical header, leaving Burnley trailing 2-0 at the break.

A precise corner into the box was expertly headed on by Gabriel, allowing Viktor Gyökeres to tap home from close range. The first half was dominated by one team, with Arsenal creating scoring opportunities.

Bukayo Saka nearly doubled Arsenal's lead when a defensive error by Maxime Estève left him with a clear shot on goal. However, Martin Dúbravka made a sharp save to keep the score 1-0.

Saka's attempt was thwarted once again by Dubravka, who made an impressive one-handed save. The rebound fell to Leandro Trossard, but Axel Tuanzebe managed to clear the danger.

Undeterred, Trossard played a pivotal role in Arsenal's second goal, delivering a precise cross into the box. Declan Rice met the ball with a clinical header, steering it into the corner to double Arsenal's advantage.

Arteta's decision to substitute Gyökeres at halftime likely provided some relief for Burnley manager Scott Parker, as it reduced Arsenal's attacking threat. However, Burnley would need to elevate their own performance in the final third to stand a chance of getting back into the game.

A double substitution introducing two attack-minded players failed to yield the desired impact for Burnley, who struggled to create scoring opportunities. In fact, they didn't attempt a single shot until the 73rd minute, when Estève's header from a cross found Florentino at the far post. Unfortunately, Florentino's header from six yards out couldn't find the target.

Burnley rarely threatened Arsenal's goal, and a late opportunity for Ethan Nwaneri to double Arsenal's lead ended with his curling effort flying inches wide of the post.

The Clarets' two-match winning streak came to an end as they were unable to mount a serious challenge to Arsenal's lead, ultimately succumbing to a 2-0 defeat.

Arsenal's victory could prove significant in the title race, as they now hold a seven-point advantage at the top of the table ahead of Liverpool's match later today.
