Fermin Lopez's exceptional performance, marked by a hat-trick, led Barcelona to a convincing 6-1 victory over Olympiacos at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. This win extends Barcelona's flawless record in home matches against Greek teams to eight games.
Despite a promising start, where Daniel Podence tested Wojciech Szczesny's reflexes with a shot within 20 seconds, Olympiacos struggled to maintain momentum. Barcelona soon took control, with Fermin Lopez scoring the opening goal in the 7th minute after capitalizing on a rebound from Tzolakis. The Spanish midfielder doubled the lead just before halftime, and despite Ayoub El Kaabi's penalty for Olympiacos, the Greek side's hopes were crushed when Santiago Hezze received a red card. Lamine Yamal converted a penalty, and Marcus Rashford sealed the win with two late goals, while Fermin completed his hat-trick.
Marcus Rashford had a close call early on, sending an improvised shot over the crossbar. However, it was Fermin Lopez who capitalized on a brilliant team move, taking a pass from Lamine Yamal, controlling it amidst two defenders, and slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.
Rashford continued to test the Olympiacos defense with a powerful free kick that unfortunately hit the side netting. Meanwhile, Olympiacos had their own scoring opportunity when Dani Garcia's shot took a deflection off Marc Casado, causing Wojciech Szczesny to make a crucial save to prevent the ball from going over the top.
Olympiacos pushed forward, sensing vulnerability in Barcelona's defense, with Gelson Martins and Lorenzo Pirola creating chances. However, their efforts were thwarted by blocks and wayward shots. The visitors' fortunes took a turn for the worse when Chiquinho went off injured just before the 30-minute mark.
The disruption caused by Chiquinho's substitution seemed to unsettle Olympiacos further. Barcelona seized the opportunity, with Jules Kounde testing the Olympiacos goal before Fermin capitalized on a defensive lapse to double Barcelona's lead in the 39th minute. Collecting a pass from Dani Olmo was replaced by Dro Fernandez in the sentence and finishing calmly, Fermin scored his second goal of the night.
Fermin was denied a third goal shortly after the restart when Konstantinos Tzolakis made a spectacular save, palming away a header that had been well-placed.
The game's momentum shifted when Ayoub El Kaabi's header was initially ruled out due to an offside decision against Podence. However, replays showed that Eric Garcia had handled the ball, and El Kaabi was awarded a penalty instead. The Moroccan striker composed himself and fired the penalty into the net, striking the post before rebounding in.
The match seemed to be a formality for Barcelona once again, but Olympiacos' fortunes took another turn for the worse just three minutes after Ayoub El Kaabi's penalty. Santiago Hezze was given a second yellow card for catching Marc Casado, following a similar incident involving Pedri in the first half.

The numerical disadvantage proved costly for Olympiacos as Barcelona capitalized on a penalty won by Marcus Rashford. Lamine Yamal coolly converted the spot kick, sliding the ball down the middle to further extend Barcelona's lead.
Barcelona sealed their victory with three goals in five minutes, completing the rout. The goals were scored by Marcus Rashford, who wrong-footed Tzolakis twice with two brilliantly taken goals, and Fermin, who completed his hat-trick with a powerful finish.
