Napoli's Kevin De Bruyne suffers a high-grade hamstring injury, ruling him out for several months.

Napoli's star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been sidelined for several months due to a serious muscle injury. De Bruyne sustained the injury during Napoli's 3-1 win over Inter Milan when he pulled up clutching his right thigh after converting a penalty.

The Italian club confirmed that De Bruyne underwent tests at Pineta Grande Hospital, which revealed a high-grade lesion to the biceps femoris muscle in his right thigh. He's already begun his rehabilitation process. Given the severity of the injury, De Bruyne is likely to miss the remainder of the year and potentially until January or beyond, similar to Napoli teammate Romelu Lukaku, who suffered a similar injury and is expected to return in January.

De Bruyne's absence will significantly impact Napoli's performance in both domestic and European competitions. He's been instrumental in Napoli's success this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in his first 11 appearances. The club will need to rely on other midfielders like Scott McTominay, Stanislav Lobotka, and Elmas to fill the void left by De Bruyne's injury.

“The Azzurri player has already begun his rehabilitation programme.”

Kevin De Bruyne's hamstring issues have resurfaced, and the Belgium international will undergo a period of rehabilitation to address the problem. De Bruyne underwent major surgery on his right hamstring in the summer of 2023, and it appears that the issue may not be fully resolved.

De Bruyne's injury will keep him sidelined for an extended period, and he will miss crucial league and European fixtures heading into the Christmas break. This is a significant blow to Napoli, as De Bruyne has been instrumental in the team's success, scoring four goals in six starts since joining the club.

The injury will be a huge headache for Napoli manager Antonio Conte, who will have to find a suitable replacement to fill the void left by De Bruyne's absence. De Bruyne's experience and quality will be deeply missed, and Conte will need to adjust his tactics accordingly.
