Eredivisie Round 10: Drama and Upsets Unfold
| FC Volendam vs Heracles Almelo: 3-0 |
Round 10 of the Dutch Eredivisie is underway, and while everyone's eyes are on the derby between Feyenoord and PSV on Sunday, Saturday's slate of games brought plenty of drama and sensation already.
FC Volendam thrashed Heracles Almelo 3-0 on Saturday evening, further adding to Heracles' woes. The visitors held on for nearly the entire first half but conceded just before the break when Volendam midfielder Nordin Bukala opened the scoring. Yannick Leliendal doubled the lead early in the second half with a wonderful strike from distance.
Heracles' situation worsened when striker Mario Engels was sent off for simulation, receiving his second yellow card. Aurelio Oehlers sealed the win with a stunning 3-0 in the 66th minute. This victory moves Volendam to 13th place, while Heracles remains at the bottom of the table with just three points.
In other matches, high-flying FC Groningen beat Fortuna Sittard 2-1, courtesy of goals from David van der Werff and Marvin Peersman. Sparta Rotterdam secured a 1-0 win over Telstar, thanks to Tobias Lauritsen's tap-in goal. NEC Nijmegen and PEC Zwolle played out a 2-2 draw.
Thrilling Draw Between SC Heerenveen and NAC Breda
SC Heerenveen and NAC Breda played out an electrifying 3-3 draw at the Abe Lenstra Stadion in Frisia. The match was filled with action-packed moments, with both teams creating scoring opportunities.
The game's pivotal moment came when Terence Kongolo, a defender who has played for Feyenoord and Huddersfield Town, scored an own goal 14 minutes after replacing the injured Rio Hillen. However, NAC Breda quickly responded to the setback with two rapid-fire goals from Leo Greiml and Sydney van Hooijdonk, leveling the score within 10 minutes of the restart.

But NAC Breda salvaged a point thanks to Mohamed Nassoh's late equalizer. In the 94th minute, Nassoh fired home a cross from Charles-Andreas Brym, securing NAC's second consecutive draw.

Groningen sealed the win with a clinical counter-attack in the hour mark, finished by Belgian defender Marvin Peersman, who scored his first Eredivisie goal in his 94th appearance. Fortuna Sittard's consolation goal came courtesy of a late effort, but it was too little, too late.
Paul Gladon pulled one back for Fortuna Sittard in the final 15 minutes, but it was too little to change the outcome. Despite his effort, Groningen held on for the win, marking their sixth victory of the season - a total they only managed in February last year.
Sparta Rotterdam Edges Telstar 1-0
Sparta Rotterdam secured a 1-0 win over Telstar, grabbing their second consecutive league victory and first home win since August. Tobias Lauritsen scored the decisive goal, tapping in a cross from Ayoub Oufkir in the 25th minute.

Telstar's biggest chance came in the 80th minute when Guus Offerhaus's effort from the edge of the box went wide. The miss summed up Telstar's evening, as they remained winless in four of their last five games and stayed in the bottom two. Meanwhile, Sparta moved up to sixth and will await Sunday's results to see where they stand.
Volendam Thrash Ten-Man Heracles 3-0
FC Volendam thrashed Heracles Almelo 3-0 on Saturday evening, adding to Heracles' woes. The match was delayed due to hooliganism, with both sets of supporters attempting to confront each other on the sidelines, prompting referee Danny Makkelie to call everyone inside.
Volendam took the lead just before halftime when Nordin Bukala scored. After the break, Heracles' troubles worsened when Mario Engels was sent off for simulation. Yannick Leliendal doubled the lead with a stunning strike from distance, and Aurelio Oehlers sealed the win with a 3-0 scoreline in the 66th minute.

Aurelio Oehlers sealed Heracles' fate with a stunning goal in the 66th minute, making it 3-0 for Volendam. This result leaves Heracles struggling at the bottom of the table with just three points, seven points behind Volendam and four points behind the next lowest-ranked team.
PEC Zwolle and NEC Play Out 2-2 Draw
NEC Nijmegen failed to halt their recent slide, settling for a 2-2 draw away at PEC Zwolle on Saturday evening. After a strong start to the season, NEC has struggled to find form, managing only one win since September 28.
Koki Ogawa gave NEC an early lead, scoring after just nine minutes. However, PEC Zwolle fought back to equalize and later took the lead, only for NEC to salvage a point with a late equalizer.

PEC Zwolle's Jamiro Monteiro equalized with a curling free-kick from the edge of the box, ending a quiet first half on a surprising note. NEC responded quickly after the break, with Ahmetcan Kaplan scoring his first goal for the club to put the visitors back in the lead.
However, PEC Zwolle's top scorer Koen Kostons restored parity with a goal following a swift counter, leaving the match at 2-2. The result means NEC could drop out of the virtual playoff spots, while PEC Zwolle remains in the danger zone, holding onto 16th place.
