Elena Rybakina claimed her 10th career title with a thrilling comeback win over Ekaterina Alexandrova at the Ningbo Open. She rallied from a set down to win 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 and boost her chances of qualifying for the WTA Finals.

With this victory, Rybakina closed in on securing the final qualifying spot for the WTA Finals. She now holds a significant advantage over Mirra Andreeva, meaning Rybakina only needs to reach the semi-finals of the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo to seal her place in Riyadh.

The WTA Finals will feature an impressive lineup, including Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova, Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, Jasmine Paolini, and now potentially Elena Rybakina, who is poised to join them in Riyadh from November 1-8.

“I'd like to congratulate Ekaterina for a great week and great season,” said Rybakina.

“It hasn't been an easy year for all of us, a difficult schedule ... thank you so much to my team for always pushing me to be better.

Ekaterina Alexandrova surged ahead, leading 4-1 as Rybakina's errors mounted. The 30-year-old sealed the set with a decisive forehand winner, taking the opener 6-3.

Determined to end her hardcourt losing streak against Alexandrova, Rybakina intensified her game in the second set. She consolidated an early break with a precise cross-court winner, setting the stage for a comeback.

Rybakina, ranked 9th in the world, increased the pressure from the baseline in the deciding set. A crucial net approach earned her another early break, paving the way to victory and her second title of the season.
