CAF Awards 2025: Star-Studded Nominations Announced
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the nominees for the 2025 CAF Awards.
Who will take home the top prizes?
The 2025 CAF Awards nominations are out, and it's going to be a thrilling contest. Rasheedat Ajibade from PSG and Barbra Banda from Orlando Pride are among the top contenders for the top honor, alongside Racheal Kundananji and Nigeria's Esther Okoronkwo.
The prestigious award has also shortlisted an impressive lineup, including Malawi's unstoppable sisters Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga, Morocco's fearless captain Ghizlane Chebbak, and Senegal's goal machine Mama Diop.
In the Goalkeeper of the Year category, Nigeria's Chiamaka Nnadozie, who plays for Brighton & Hove Albion, is eyeing a historic third win.
She'll face tough competition from talented goalkeepers worldwide, including Andile Dlamini from South Africa, Sedilame Boseja from Botswana, Chloé N’Gazi from Algeria's Olympique de Marseille, and Fideline Ndoy from Congo's TP Mazembe.
Other strong contenders include Egypt's Habiba Emad from FC Masar, Ghana's Cynthia Konlan from Swieqi United, Mali's Fatoumata Karantao from USFAS Bamako, Morocco's Khadija Er-Rmichi from AS FAR, and Senegal's Adji Ndiaye from AS Bambey. This diverse lineup makes the Women's Goalkeeper of the Year award one of the most competitive categories in the 2025 CAF Awards
Justin Madugu, who guided the Super Falcons to the 2024 African title, has been nominated for the Women’s Coach of the Year award.
She will compete against Morocco’s Lamia Boumehdi, South Africa’s Desiree Ellis, Zambia’s Carol Kanyemba, the Ivory Coast’s Adelaide Koudougnon, and Equatorial Guinea’s Genoveva Anonma for the prestigious honour.
The 2025 CAF Awards ceremony is set to honor the outstanding players, coaches, and teams who made a lasting impact from January 6th to October 15th, 2025. This year's event promises to be an exciting celebration of African football's best.
A panel of esteemed experts, including the CAF Technical and Development Committee, experienced coaches, CAF Legends, and selected media representatives, carefully selected the top 10 nominees in each category based on their impressive performances across all competitions.
