Bayern Munich's impressive start to the season continues, with the team eyeing a win in the German Cup against FC Koln to extend their flawless run. Coach Vincent Kompany believes his team's momentum is crucial as they take on Koln in the German Cup second round.
Bayern Munich's winning streak has reached 13 matches across all competitions, matching the record set by AC Milan in the 1992/93 campaign. The team topped the Bundesliga standings with a 3-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday, accumulating 24 points from eight games.
“We are doing a lot of things right at the moment and we have to take this into the next game,” Kompany told a press conference. “Until now Koln have done it well. You have to give them credit for what they do in defence. They operate with a lot of urgency.
“They play at home so they have every right to believe in their chances. But we are very hungry for this Cup.”
