Nottingham Forest parted ways with Ange Postecoglou as their manager, effective immediately. This decision came after the team suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.

The club announced Postecoglou's departure via a statement on X, citing “a series of disappointing results and performances” as the reason for his dismissal. “Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect,” the statement read. “The Club will make no further comment at this time.”

Ange Postecoglou tenure lasted merely 39 days, from September 9, 2025, making him one of the shortest-serving managers in Premier League history. During his brief stint, he failed to secure a single win in eight matches, managing only two draws and six defeats.

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis departed his seat at the City Ground during the match against Chelsea, foreshadowing the end of Ange Postecoglou's tenure as manager. Sure enough, minutes after the final whistle, the club announced Postecoglou's dismissal.

Postecoglou's appointment on September 9 sparked high hopes, especially given his success with Tottenham in the Europa League. However, his stint at Forest was marked by disappointing results, with six defeats and two draws from eight matches, leaving the club in dire need of a change at the helm. With Postecoglou's departure, Forest is now searching for their third manager of the season.

Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou exuded confidence at his pre-match press conference, asserting his ability to deliver success despite the club's current struggles. “If you give me time at a club, it always ends with me and a trophy,” Postecoglou declared, highlighting his impressive track record.

Meanwhile, reports suggest Sean Dyche, the former Burnley and Everton manager, is a top contender to replace Postecoglou. With Forest's owner Evangelos Marinakis reportedly losing patience, Dyche's experience could make him an attractive candidate to take the reins at the City Ground.
