West Ham manager Graham Potter laughs off social media memes, staying focused on turning the team's season around.

“Every job is hard and in terms of this one you don't know how things are before you go in but from the outside...”

Graham Potter, the manager of West Ham United, has taken the recent social media memes about him in stride. When asked about the viral face-swap trend where his face is superimposed onto various celebrities and figures, Potter said, "It made my 15-year-old son laugh a lot." He acknowledged that as a Premier League manager, he has to accept criticism and ridicule that come with the job.

The pressure is mounting on Potter after West Ham's 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, with fans chanting “you're getting sacked in the morning.” Despite this, Potter remains determined to turn the club around. He emphasized that football is tough and every Premier League job is a hard one, but he's focused on changing the team's dynamics.

When asked if he has a favorite meme, Potter replied, “No, not really. I haven't given it too much thought. You can imagine I've got a few more important things to think about than that.” His priority is clearly on the game and improving West Ham's performance, rather than the memes circulating online.

Potter Acknowledges Challenges at West Ham

Graham Potter admitted that the job at West Ham is tough, hinting at the difficulties he's facing as the team's manager. Ahead of what could be his last game in charge, Potter acknowledged the challenges of managing in the Premier League, where every match is a test of endurance and strategy.

“Every Premier League job is a hard job and that is the facts.

“If you think how many coaches there are in the world and you find yourself as one of the 20 coaches in the Premier League, it's hard, by definition. Every coach is good and there are resources everywhere.

“Every job is hard and in terms of this one you don't know how things are before you go in but from the outside I thought this would be a challenge, it is an incredible challenge but an exciting challenge.

“Anything that is worth having in life you have to accept there will be struggle. Football is tough.”

Potter Vows to Turn West Ham Around

Despite the challenges, Graham Potter expressed determination to turn West Ham's season around after a difficult start to the campaign. He remains focused on improving the team's performance and navigating the tough Premier League landscape.

“I think you have to accept that at the highest level that the margins are small.

“You can't wait for those to come round for you and you just have to keep working. We have to keep moving forward and try and change it and that's the job, that's life and we are looking forward to changing that dynamic.”

Potter's Take on Becoming a Meme

Graham Potter acknowledged becoming a meme on social media, where his face has been superimposed onto various images of famous figures. He noted that while it can be amusing, as a Premier League manager, he has to accept the ridicule that comes with the job.

“Yes, I am aware of it. It made my 15-year-old son laugh a lot so you have to accept what comes with it (the job)

“At times (that is) ridicule but that is just the environment we are in and it is what it is.”

He was also asked if he has a favourite one:“No not really, I haven't given it too much thought and you can imagine I've got a few more important things than that to be honest and as I said it is what it is and you have to deal with those things.”
