Barcelona coach Hansi Flick expresses confidence in Marcus Rashford, promising to push him to reach higher levels.

You have to learn... what is necessary, what we need from him, and I will push him 100 percent, and also support him...”

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick expressed his confidence in Marcus Rashford, stating, “I totally believe in his quality, but you always have to work hard, and every day get better.” Flick believes Rashford has the potential to reach higher levels and is committed to supporting him. The England international scored his first two goals for Barcelona in their 2-1 Champions League victory over Newcastle United on Thursday.

Rashford's recent performance is a welcome change from his time at Manchester United, where he fell out of favor under coach Ruben Amorim. Amorim publicly questioned Rashford's commitment and desire, but Flick is determined to help him succeed. “You have to learn... what is necessary, what we need from him, and I will push him 100 percent, and also support him,” Flick said.

With Lamine Yamal injured, Rashford is likely to start for Barcelona in their upcoming match against Getafe on Sunday. Flick mentioned that Yamal's participation is uncertain and that the team will assess his condition day by day. Meanwhile, Flick doesn't expect Yamal to win the Ballon d'Or this year, favoring Ousmane Dembele's chances. However, Flick believes Yamal will get the trophy one day, saying,  I think one day we will see this, that Lamine gets this trophy.”

Barcelona will face Getafe on Sunday in La Liga, without injured winger Lamine Yamal, who sustained an ankle injury. Hansi Flick, the team's coach, said, “With Lamine, we have to wait day-by-day,” regarding Yamal's availability. Given Yamal's absence, Marcus Rashford is likely to start again.

Flick also shared his thoughts on the Ballon d'Or, suggesting that Yamal wouldn't win it this year. Despite this, Flick mentioned that Barcelona would attend the ceremony in Paris on Monday. This decision comes after Real Madrid snubbed the gala last season when Vinicius Junior didn't win. Flick's comments on Yamal's potential Ballon d'Or chances reflect the coach's perspective on the current football landscape.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick believes Lamine Yamal is among the contenders for the Ballon d'Or, although he acknowledges Ousmane Dembele is the favorite. Flick expressed his thoughts on Yamal's potential to win the trophy, saying, “I think one day we will see this, that Lamine gets this trophy.”

Flick emphasized the importance of respect in the nomination process, stating, “But in the end, for me it's like (showing) respect to be there, because we are nominated and we will see. He added that whoever wins the trophy deserves it, and he would focus on enjoying the moment and showing respect to the winner. Flick said, "Everyone who gets this trophy deserves it, so for me, I just want to enjoy it and show respect also, to the winners. This, for me, is crucial."
