Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 in the Club World Cup semi-final, reaching the final with a stunning display. The win ended Xabi Alonso's unbeaten start as Real Madrid manager, which had lasted six games. A packed MetLife Stadium, predominantly clad in Real Madrid's white shirts, witnessed a shocking turn of events as Los Blancos gifted PSG two goals within the first nine minutes, setting the tone for a calamitous night.

PSG's first goal came when Raul Asencio's lax possession allowed Ousmane Dembele to win the ball, which led to Fabian Ruiz slotting home after Thibaut Courtois fouled Dembele. However, Real’s blushes were spared following a marginal offside call. The Spaniards were showing marginal signs of improvement, but Gianluigi Donnarumma was largely a spectator between the sticks.

Kylian Mbappe, facing his former team for the first time, had a chance to make a statement but his long-range shot sailed harmlessly over the bar. PSG continued to press for a fourth goal, with Achraf Hakimi delivering a well-weighted pass to Goncalo Ramos, who unfortunately fired wide from a tight angle.
