Paris Saint-Germain defeated Bayern Munich 2-0 to secure a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup semifinals. Read more about the thrilling match and PSG's journey.
PSG secured a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich, advancing to the FIFA Club World Cup semifinals and snapping a four-match losing streak against the German side. The match was marked by a lack of attacking flair, with both teams struggling to create clear chances in the early stages. It wasn't until the 20th minute that PSG had a notable opportunity, with Desire Doué setting up Fabián Ruiz for a shot that sailed over the bar.

The pair traded blows from there, and Bayern managed to get their first meaningful effort on target through Michael Olise, but Gianluigi Donnarumma was equal to his stinging drive.
The pendulum swiftly swung back in the Parisians’ favour as they created the best chance of the game just after the half-hour mark. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia took matters into his own hands, weaving past the Bayern defence only to see his low drive repelled by the legs of Manuel Neuer.
Just before halftime, Bayern thought they had taken the lead when Dayot Upamecano headed home Michael Olise's free-kick, but the goal was ruled out by the assistant referee's flag.

The first half ended on a sour note for Bayern as Jamal Musiala suffered an injury in the final seconds. The situation worsened after halftime when Bradley Barcola broke clear, only to be denied by an incredible save from Manuel Neuer.
Bradley Barcola's promising attack was soon followed by another chance for PSG, as he lost the ball to Ousmane Dembele, who was presented with a clear opportunity. However, Dembele's effort inexplicably drifted wide of the target. PSG eventually broke through just over 10 minutes from time, with Desire Doue orchestrating a fine move that led to a precise shot into the near post, beating Manuel Neuer.
The Parisians made seeing the game out much harder than it ought to have been when, just five minutes after nosing ahead, Willian Pacho’s shin-high challenge on Leon Goretzka earned him a red card.
That looked to be a costly misjudgment from Pacho when Harry Kane headed home what he thought was an equaliser, but for the second time on the evening, the offside flag bailed PSG out.
PSG endured intense pressure in the six minutes of stoppage time, made even more challenging when Lucas Hernández was sent off for elbowing Raphael Guerreiro, leaving the team with nine men. Despite being down two players, PSG sealed the win with a late goal from Ousmane Dembele, scored with one of the game's final kicks.
The match ended in dramatic fashion when a Bayern penalty claim was overturned after Anthony Taylor reviewed the VAR, confirming PSG's 2-0 win and securing their spot in the semifinals. The victory keeps PSG in contention to add to their domestic quadruple.
