According to reports, the woman threatened Son with a false pregnancy claim. Son's agency, Son & Football Limited, confirmed the complaint and stated that the police are currently investigating the matter.
Son Heung-min's agency stated that he is clearly the victim in the alleged blackmail incident.
According to local media, police arrested a woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s for allegedly trying to extort money from Son with a fake pregnancy claim. The Seoul Gangnam Police Station did not immediately confirm the reports.
As a prominent figure in South Korea, Son's popularity extends beyond his success in the Premier League to his role as captain of the national team.
