Serie A: Fiorentina Beats Bologna 3-2 in Thrilling Serie A Match
Fiorentina defeated Bologna 3-2 in a thrilling Serie A match, extending their unbeaten home run. Moise Kean scored the winning goal in the 84th minute.
Fiorentina secured a 3-2 win over Bologna, fellow European qualification contenders, at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Serie A. This victory extended Fiorentina's unbeaten home run to nine matches across all competitions.
Fresh from winning the Coppa Italia for the first time in 51 years, Bologna started strongly in Tuscany. They put Fiorentina's goal under significant pressure in the opening 10 minutes. However, Bologna struggled to effectively involve goalkeeper David de Gea, with Santiago Castro particularly wasteful in front of goal.
Bologna's missed chances were punished just before the 15-minute mark when Fabiano Parisi's dynamic run culminated in a shot that took a wicked deflection off Jhon Lucumi and flew past Lukasz Skorupski.
The match followed a familiar pattern, with 3+ goals in 11 of Fiorentina's previous 18 home league games this term. Bologna needed to continue this trend to keep their UEFA Champions League qualification hopes alive. Despite dominating possession, Bologna struggled to create clear-cut chances, directing just one of their 11 shots on target. Gustavo Fabbian also curled over from a promising position on the edge of the box.
The 3-2 scoreline seemed harsh on Bologna, who conceded from Fiorentina's lone shot before halftime. However, the Rossoblu bounced back in the second half, exacting some revenge. They equalized with their first shot after the restart when Riccardo Orsolini beat Parisi on the right flank and delivered a precise cross into the box. Thijs Dallinga met the cross with a beautifully directed header into the far corner.

Fiorentina quickly responded, restoring their lead in just six minutes. Parisi was again involved in the buildup as La Viola regained the advantage.
Fiorentina's full-back Fabiano Parisi drove into the box, and his cross deflected towards the goalkeeper, who could only parry the ball into the path of Amir Richardson. The midfielder capitalized on the opportunity, sliding home the rebound for his first domestic goal in Fiorentina colors.
The visitors responded once more, with Dan Ndoye cutting back a cross from the left byline that Riccardo Orsolini slammed home from point-blank range.
Moise Kean had a chance to put Fiorentina up 3-1 shortly after, but Lukasz Skorupski made a crucial save to deny him. However, Kean made no mistake in the 84th minute, scoring his 18th league goal of the season. He sprinted past the Bologna defense and slotted home the rebound, securing Fiorentina's lead.
The match ended with Fiorentina's 3-2 win, and in the final moments, Juan Miranda was sent off for a reckless strike to the face of Rolando Mandragora.
The result marked Fiorentina's 11th win in their last 14 home matches against Bologna. With this victory, Fiorentina leapfrogged Bologna in the table, setting up a thrilling finale to the season as the European qualification spots will be decided on the final day.
