Ruben Amorim: ‘I'll Leave Manchester United Without Compensation If Club Decides’
Ruben Amorim, Manchester United's manager, has stated he's willing to leave the club without compensation if he's no longer wanted. Amorim's comments come after the team's Europa League final defeat to Tottenham and a dismal season.
Ruben Amorim has expressed his willingness to part ways with Manchester United without compensation if the club decides to terminate his contract. Following his team's Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, Amorim stated that if Manchester United no longer wants him, he would leave the club immediately, relinquishing any potential compensation.
The Europa League final saw Tottenham emerge victorious with a 1-0 win, Brennan Johnson's goal in the 42nd minute proving decisive. Despite their best efforts, Manchester United couldn't find a way back into the game, ultimately falling short in their bid for European silverware. Amorim's comments have sparked speculation about his future at the club.

The Europa League defeat adds to Manchester United's woes, with the team set to finish in their lowest league position since the 1974 relegation season. Despite the disappointment, an emotional Ruben Amorim remains resolute in his approach, insisting he'll stick to his principles even in the face of a dismal run of results since taking over from Erik ten Hag in November.
Amorim expressed his confidence in his ability to turn things around at Old Trafford, but made it clear that if the club loses faith in him, he's willing to walk away without hesitation or seeking compensation. The former Sporting boss's comments highlight the uncertainty surrounding his future at Manchester United.
“If the board and the fans feel that I'm not the right guy, I will go the next day without any conversation about compensation,” he said.
“But I will not quit. I'm really confident on my job. And as you can see, I will not change nothing in the way I do things.”
Amorim refused to talk about the future, saying United needed to “deal with the loss and the pain of losing this match.”
“What I can say is that I think it was clear we were the better team but then we managed not to score again and that is really hard to win football matches but the guys tried everything to win the game,” he said.
“In the future we will have time to assess everything.”
When Ruben Amorim took the helm at Manchester United, the team was within reach of a Champions League spot. However, they've since slipped significantly, now trailing fifth-placed Chelsea by 27 points. Amorim acknowledged the gravity of the situation, saying, “We need to understand that it is tough for a club like ours not to be in the Champions League.” Despite the challenge, he remains committed to his vision for the team.
“But we have to use the other side. If we have more time, we have more time to think, to work during the week and to be better in the Premier League. That will be our focus.”
